This week saw the launch of my new website Row6.com at the prestigious NASDAQ Market Site in New York City's Times Square.  We had the privilege of sharing a platform with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

“With the recent discovery of the God Particle, there is more and more discussion on whether God exists, so my question is Does God Exist?" I was taken aback when this question was asked by a young 15 year old to one of the panellists of religious leaders.

The winner of this year’s international Faith Shorts competition delivered a very positive and mobilizing message in his award winning film “Be The Change You Want To See.” By way of song, the young Canadian Nadim Merrikh expressed that if you want change to happen, you have to make it happen yourself and that change is possible. This message was reinforced by the evident determination and optimism that radiated throughout the film.

Last Friday the students in the Advanced Seminar in Historiography participated in one of Face to Faith’s three panels including classrooms from around the world. December 10 is the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights signed by the United Nations on December 10, 1948.

The Faiths Act SolidariTEA campaign is an opportunity to bring groups of people with diverse faiths together to highlight the importance of the human right to health.

This week we organised a SolidariTea event to mark UN Human Rights Day (10th December) and UN Solidarity Day (20th December). We held it in the JHub (Jewish Social Action Hub) which houses various Jewish charities. We invited people from all different backgrounds to come and share tea (provided by Starbucks) and home made cake.

An empowering end to our Human Rights Day videoconferencing was a terrific conversation among three American schools and guest speaker Jenais Zarlin, the Director of Business Development for Thanksgiving Coffee Company. One of her most important roles is assisting customers in realizing their connection to the people who grow their coffee and the stories behind these farmers’ lives.

As classes came to an end at the University of Toronto, students from different faith and philosophical backgrounds came together for SolidariTEA at the university's Multi-faith Centre. The event was held as part of the global Faiths Act SolidariTEA Campaign. This campaign is encouraging people and communities worldwide to host interfaith teas, in order to mark International Human Rights Day (Dec. 10) and UN Solidarity Day (Dec.

I once met a Manciple in the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Lewis Carroll would have been disappointed: a charming senior university official.  But no match for conversations with three Magnifico Rettore in Italy in the space of six weeks.

The Faiths Act SolidariTea campaign marks a global campaign spanning 10 days from 10th December UN Human Rights Day to 20th December UN Solidarity Day. People from all around the world are encouraged to organise teas and gatherings in solidarity highlighting the importance of the human right to health.
