June Sarpong: Six degrees of Integration

Question and answer with Faith Shorts 2011 winner

The winner of this year’s international Faith Shorts competition delivered a very positive and mobilizing message in his award winning film “Be The Change You Want To See.” By way of song, the young Canadian Nadim Merrikh expressed that if you want change to happen, you have to make it happen yourself and that change is possible. This message was reinforced by the evident determination and optimism that radiated throughout the film.

Videoconference Raises Many Important Questions

Last Friday the students in the Advanced Seminar in Historiography participated in one of Face to Faith’s three panels including classrooms from around the world. December 10 is the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights signed by the United Nations on December 10, 1948.

SolidariTea: a story of unity

This week we organised a SolidariTea event to mark UN Human Rights Day (10th December) and UN Solidarity Day (20th December). We held it in the JHub (Jewish Social Action Hub) which houses various Jewish charities. We invited people from all different backgrounds to come and share tea (provided by Starbucks) and home made cake.

Face to Faith Human rights video conference highlights interfaith cooperation through coffee

An empowering end to our Human Rights Day videoconferencing was a terrific conversation among three American schools and guest speaker Jenais Zarlin, the Director of Business Development for Thanksgiving Coffee Company. One of her most important roles is assisting customers in realizing their connection to the people who grow their coffee and the stories behind these farmers’ lives.

Faiths Act Fellows host SolidariTea at University of Toronto

The Faiths Act SolidariTea campaign marks a global campaign spanning 10 days from 10th December UN Human Rights Day to 20th December UN Solidarity Day.
