Never Too Young

Ever thought you were too young, too inexperienced, too uneducated? Ever thought what difference could 1 person really make?

After meeting Amanda Belzowski, and listening to her story, I don't think I'll ever feel that way again.

She is just 12 years old, and has already raised over $135 000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Now she's decided to take on malaria too.

Standing in front of a blue bednet, she told me how appalled she was when she found out that children are dying every minute in Africa because of tiny little bugs. Without any hesitation, she knew that she had to do something, she had to make a difference. She decided to dedicate a portion of her Bat Mitzvah speech to telling her family, friends and community just how devastating malaria is, and challenging them all to take action against this disease. At just 12 years old, she is inspiring people around the world to raise their voices and get involved.

I feel inspired every time I hear her speak. Her passion and determination are contagious. She proves to me that no one is ever too young to make a big difference in the world.
