NOTES FOR NETS: a benefit conert to protect women & children in Mali from malaria

On April 24th, the eve of World Malaria Day, stand in solidarity with those all over the world who suffer from malaria by listening to amazing music at NOTES FOR NETS! FaithsAct Portland, a group of young interfaith leaders who are inspired by their respective faith traditions to take action against injustice, is proud to announce that David Bazan will headline at a benefit concert to raise awareness and funds to eradicate malaria.  The show will be opened by Seattleite Shannon Stephens and Portland’s Matthew Haussler.

All proceeds of this benefit concert will be given to help Project Muso Ladamunen (Project for the Empowered Woman) provide life-saving bed nets and comprehensive health care to fight malaria, which kills one in five children in Yirimadjo, Mali.

Notes for Nets is a joint venture of college student groups, faith communities, domestic and international NGOs, local businesses, corporations, and musicians from all over the Northwest.  Each of these players is coming together to be a part of something they could never accomplish alone: a global partnership to eradicate malaria.

Join with us on April 24th at McMenamin’s Lola’s Room to support Project Muso and to work toward a malaria-free world!  Doors open at 8:30 pm. Tickets are $15. Buy advance tickets now!
