Why I want to Act - Natasha

London is a city rich with different cultures, people, and history. Having grown up in the suburbs, I have an appreciation for this diversity. I feel privileged to have been able to meet people from all walks of life, never considering our differences as barriers to our friendship. As I grew older my eyes were opened to the world around me, I saw that barriers did exist and for some reason were not being destroyed. Even within my own faith and family relationships I struggled to not only understand who I was on a spiritual level, but why some members of my family had prejudices against people I considered my friends, my neighbours my brothers and my sisters. It is for this reason amongst others that I felt like I needed to break down these barriers and empower and inspire others that may not understand what it is they are feeling, and open their minds to allow them to know that they can be the change in the world and that their actions can be so extraordinarily powerful that the world will listen and can learn from them. It is for this that I begin this new chapter of my life, to build on the old chapters of history. Environmentalism and climate change came into the public only by people coming together and making a loud noise. I want to make a loud noise about religious pluralism, its importance in making a change in the world and its importance in coexistence. To be starting the whispers in London is something that brings me satisfaction, as I know the youth ready and waiting for something to happen.
