Face to Faith students excited about social action by Christina Teisch (School Principal, New York)

When I think about education in the 21st century for today's youth, I envy the opportunities available to them I never had. To be able to dialogue "face to faith" brings the world's different cultures and faces front and center for our students!

The students of my school at St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hempstead, New York were mesmerized by Randa and Avi, two energetic and dynamic fellows from the Faith Foundation as they shared their knowledge on living in Mali, Africa-a land without electricity, the struggles of people as they are ravaged by malaria, and the reality of a country where educational opportunities and health care are not commonplace. For students living in New York, this information was vital to broaden their viewpoint on the reality of other countries on this planet we share.

We are proud of our faith and celebrate it daily! It teaches us that all of God's children from all cultures and faiths contribute positively to our global society. It confirms that our diversity threads life's intricate pattern of the beauty of all life.

Thank you Daniella, Avi and Randa for your presentation on the topic of bed nets for malaria. My students are already thinking about ways to help support this cause!
