TBFF hold Interfaith Harmony Breakfast
For a moment in our busy day, members of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation stopped to enjoy breakfast together for UN World Interfaith Harmony Week.
The Faiths Act Fellows, who were in London for training, also joined us for the special breakfast. They are currently in the full swing of their Fellowships at their various host organisations and it was an absolute joy to see them again.
The breakfast gave us a chance to catch up on some of the latest projects we are all working on, Where’s the Net? and “My Friend of a Different Faith” come to mind, but more importantly, we were able to talk about what Interfaith Harmony Week means as it celebrates its second year.
We were struck by the variety of different faiths represented in the organization: Sikh, Christian, Muslim, Quaker, Hindu, and Jewish, all working together with common purpose and common goals.
Although not every member made it or could stay long, those who did found the experience to be a worthwhile time of connection during a rather busy and routine day. And, once again we were reminded that taking moments to learn about one another does lead to greater understanding.
