Maya Maklan Smith, 22, completed a B.A. in philosophy this past spring at Wellesley College, MA, and is excited to be back in her beloved home town of Montreal as a Faiths Act Fellow. She comes to the Fellowship inspired by her Jewish faith and her past involvement in multi-faith and community service projects. Over the past few months, Maya has been perfecting her skills in the making of granola bars, the subtle art of blending a diversity of distinct ingredients into cohesive squares of wholesome deliciousness. Nick Pang is a 23 year-old Christian from the island of Montreal in Quebec, Canada, where he is also being hosted this year by the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism. He is a recent graduate of the Religious Studies program at McGill University, where he concentrated on Buddhist Studies. Having entered the discernment process for ordination in the Anglican Church of Canada, Nick is intent on promoting youth involvement in matters of faith, particularly through the avenues of social engagement and interfaith relations.
