Job Title: Web Producer

As Web Producer, you will report to the Director of Strategy and Communications. You will possess proven and exceptional skills and experience in practical website maintenance, and in general technical aspects of online communications.

You will assist with all online features of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation’s communications strategy and project activities and so a flexible approach to work will be required, but your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the Director of Strategy and Communications and other communications staff to help the design, technical implementation and maintenance of a proactive online communications strategy. 
  • Working closely with the Digital Manager on the technical aspects of sourcing and encouraging diverse and interesting online content on all TBFF websites.
  • Working, with the Digital Manager, with website contractors to ensure the websites are working well and technically up to date.
  • Helping to implement the co-ordination, support and maintenance of proactive and creative online out-reach to a growing network of supporters, volunteers  and potential funders around the world related to each project.
  • Providing regular planning reports and updates of ongoing work streams for the Director of Strategy and Communications in order to help inform and coordinate TBFF’s overall communications strategy.
  • Used to working within agreed time frames and to agreed coding standards; coordinating and providing support to the user communities and reporting on, and representing the project to senior staff.

Specific duties to be performed include:

  • Maintenance of all TBFF-owned websites on a daily basis
  • Writing well structured XHTML emails using standard compliant code
  • Working with the communications team to understand project objectives and produce working web pages from design concepts
  • Designing new pages and different elements for multiple websites using g the Adobe suite, and have general skills in design
  • Integrating pages with our content management systems
  • Helping ensure pages work equally well across multiple browsers
  • Providing ongoing technical support to the whole team on all TBFF website issues
  • Researching and staying abreast of current technologies
  • Integrating user interface functionality and user experience into all website maintenance and development work

Required Technical skills

  • Good working knowledge of DRUPAL  or experience of PHP and MYSQL plus a track record in working with and coding open-source software.
  • Advanced Adobe Suite
  • High level of competence and proven experience in XHTML and a familiarity with Dreamweaver, Fireworks and/or Photoshop as well as video and audio compression methods
  • Experience on development of social media networking and community-building
  • Knowledge and active experience of open-source communities
  • Strong experience of producing & maintaining websites and a social media presence for a third party.  Experience of a portfolio of multimedia from online communities to webcasts, websites and social media, dealing with both internal & external customers.
  • An experienced individual with strong front end technical skills and a strong understanding of solid web-based business applications – e.g. online forums, SQL databases.
  • Passionate about your work and have a strong portfolio to demonstrate your skills & experience towards this role.  
  • Experience in the usage of XHTML/CSS coding (including experience of W3C validation).
  • Ability to suggest new, timesaving and cost effective ways of developing our web presence and online/social media strategies
  • Sound knowledge of search engine optimisation

Desirable skills

  • Some knowledge of Javascript, Shockwave, Flash and ASP.
